List of Works

Ave Verum Corpus (SATB) 4′

A fresh contrapuntal setting of the traditional Latin hymn most appropriate for Lent and general celebrations of the Eucharist or communion. At times dramatic and always poetically sensitive, this setting comes to a close with a beautifully spiraling “Amen.” 2005-2013.

Mira Sus Manos (SATB) 4′

A powerful poem in Spanish depicting the wounded hands of Christ. This choral arrangement of the hymn by the same name (Ramon Bon and Guillermo B. Boomer) features a soprano soloist and a lush treatment of the exquisite melody. 2011.

The Baby’s Dance (SATB) 1′ 30″

A delightful short piece for choir based on the poem by the same name by Ann Taylor. This secular choral piece makes for a lovely encore to a concert or for certain occasions celebrating babies. Written in honor of the birth of the composer’s nephew. 2013.

Fingers (Piano solo) 7′

A suite of didactic miniatures in which each piece contains a restrictive fingering combination, ie. 1-2-5 or 3-4. The set fingerings allow students to take on more technically and musically challenging music at a beginner level. 2013.

Imaginary Friends (Organ solo) 10′

A set of six improvisatory sketches based on common children’s hymns. The hymns include Jesus Loves Me, God is So Good, Kum-bah-ya, This Little Light of Mine, O Come Little Children and Morning Has Broken. 2006.

Prelude on Azmon (Organ solo) 5′

An improvisatory prelude on the American hymn tune Azmon (“O For A Thousand Tongues to Sing”). This colorful and fanciful piece evokes an American harmonic language and exhibits some clever technical feats for the organist. 2005.

The Shepherd (Voice, Violin, Piano) 11′

A set of five versets on the famous Psalm 23 (“The Lord is My Shepherd”). Adaptable for several voice types, the piece can be performed fragmented or in its entirety and is especially appropriate for concerts, ecumenical church services and memorial services. 2007-2013

The Better Part (Cast/Orchestra) 3 hours

An original musical with a book by Nick Baldock and music by Vincent Carr. The show chronicles the lives of a group of friends at a prestigious university. The many characters sing solo and in ensemble in the show’s 22 songs. 2005-2011.

Gloria (Voice & Organ) 2’30”

A setting of the Gloria in English according to the new translation of the missal (2010). The setting is highly adaptable to any combination or arrangement of unison voices. 2010.

Missa simplex (Trebles & Organ) 8′

A setting of the missa brevis (Gloria, Sanctus, Agnus Dei) for children in the original Latin. The mass may be performed with trebles or a women’s chorus. 2011-2013.

Reharmonizations (Organ)

A set of “last verse” style reharmonizations for hymns such as Hyfrydol, Lambillote, Erhalt Uns Herr and others.  2003-2013
